F1 in School
This challenge is open to all middle and high school students in over 20 countries around the world. It involves the construction of two identical 1/20 scale Formula One racing cars. Team members perform various activities at each phase of the construction process.
Team Turbo, the Bloomsburg High School F1 team, has dominated the F1 in Schools Competition at national level for three years in a row. In 2005, Team Turbo won the international competition in Birmingham, England. In 2006, the team reached the 3rd place. Teams are rated by judges according to the speed of their car and presentation of the team/ car.
The car manufacturing consists of 3d model design in MasterCam, a virtual wind tunnel test, the actual manufacturing, physical testing, and finnally racing at the event.
